Why am I not in bed?
I get the headcanon feeling that Jessamine was always dragging her poor Lord Protector to slightly dangerous and security threatening escapades.
Sketches based off my Diplomatic Gestures ‘sign language’ Corvo.
Its always dissapointing to me that Jessamine seems to get the least amount of love from the Dishonored fandom. Despite being a single mother and Empress in a world thats seems to be pretty misogynistic.
I like to think she had a lot of influence on her people.
I also think she had the most influence on Dunwall fashion too.
Feels good to do art again!
Anyway, I can’t tell you guys much about working with Cirque, but I can show you. I did this piece for one of the performers, a mixture of spray paints, metallics, guache, and acrylic. It takes a nice photograph! Hope they like it!
I was asked by a friend and coworker to design some gymnastics leotards based on butterflies — I came up with a lot of stuff but these are my favorites. Thought I would share!
Please do not use or share these!
So Sylar and I saw the Hobbit last night! Actually, we marathoned all the movies in the past few days leading up to the Hobbit, since I had not seen them since I was like, 11.
I LOVED IT. So much— and I really, really enjoyed Smaug. Enough to consider a cosplay!
So here’s my quick sketch of what a female Cosplay of Smaug may look like. A nude full body leotard with scales sewn onto it making it looke like it was scaling onto my skin, with a foam/leather scaled covered bodice and maybe like a printed metallic snakeskin fabric for a long dress.
I would put some golden filigree in the bodice for the fire lighting in his chest, and the dress would end in gold coins trailing up the costume. (that way it would look like I’m walking in GOLD!) Some armor and and a worbla head-dress in we would be in business.
Hey I drew a thing!
Q and James Bond play a game of Words With Friends.
The highest record of one move in scrabble is 2044! Naturally, Q can score 2045. ;D
The coat I’m making is one from my Apple designs! This one is a bit more difficult, because I literally drew the most impossible front closure/lapel combo. Right now I’ve got my pieces all set (also not using any patterns) and ready to be sewn together. Then comes the green collar, lapels and lining.
I started it today — It has to be finished by tomorrow night and ready for friday!! >_<
So in case you guys have been wondering if we were dead or something…
Nope! Just ridiculously busy. This Friday is my Senior Art Show, and I decided I didn’t really have anything impressive to show. So I decided to make two costumes. One gown and one coat. In a week.
I made this dress in about two days! It’s made from chiffon and mesh, with some upholstery fabric for the bars. It’s based on a concept for character that is a figurehead — or a puppet within some grander organization. I wanted the woman to feel constrained. Beautiful, elegant and caged, like her movement and walking was as scripted as her speeches.
I am using NO PATTERNS. Which sucks.
More costume concept homework… Elizabethan Dresses. Hurghhhh I’ve done some many concepts lately I’m getting exhausted!
So, my RISD senior show is in two weeks! And this was the photoshoot me and my senior group did for the posters advertising our gallery show. The gallery title is, Beware the Ides of March. So we did a Ceasar theme.
Fellow Risd followers interested in coming and seeing my work — the show is on March 15th at 6:00pm!
So as I mentioned last week — I was assigned a project to draw 88 illustrations of an apple.
And I’m finally DONE! Here’s all 88 designs if you would like to see them.
I decided to do costume/fashion concepts based on Apples for men and women. There’s green apples, red apples, gala apples, apple strudel, apple cider, turnovers, apple pie, caramel apples, appletinis, apple fritters and more.
