And here’s the second set! Mwhaha I love these shots.

Karliah cosplay by me! Photos by Deb.

Because you’re so special Tumblr, I’m posting the sets of the shoot tonight, before I post them everywhere else tomorrow.

Karliah cosplay by me, and photos taken by Deb!

I think this is one of the best daytime shots. :)Big thanks to my goofy goober best friend, who is willing to tromp around the woods in her heels taking photos of me, for me.

I know it’s late Tumblr, but didya wanna see my Karliah photoshoot? Pictures taken by the almighty Deb.

Karliah (Nightingale Armor) - Skyrim, Cosplay Progress

Got both of the arm bracers completed! I’m liking the paint job process so far. It’s super tedious, and I gotta really be precise about my layers to get a perfect mute shine of silver over and beneath a black leather texture, but so far so good.

Of course, I’ll explain more with what I’m doing in pictures, but I’m waiting on some other coats from the chest pieces to dry before I do so.

Okay so! I cut out all the pieces of the armor from the waist up. Just the chest and ab pieces really.

Once I cut them out, and layered them if needed, I used hot glue to make all the ‘leather’ ridges and raised designs.

And then I sealed them all in one thin coat of mod podge, thin, because I do want the paint to be able to seep in enough to look more like leather than metal.

And Now they are all sitting in their first coat of black paint!

In the lower right hand corner of the last picture, you can see my two arm bracers that have been weathered in with silver and pewter paint already. They’re actually in their second black coating, just a light misting to push some of the silver back. (I’ll explain this step more once I get there.)

Karliah (Nightingale Armor) - Skyrim, Cosplay ProgressWoohoo! I’ve got finished pieces done. And my cape is sewn (with no clasps to hold it down yet….) Granted I still have a long ass way too, but progress is progress. I have my arm guards and leg armor waiting to be painted and now I’m making blueprints for my chest plate. Either way, this costume needs to be done by the middle of May!
